The Mast General Store was operated by members of the Mast Family into the early 1970s. It was added to The National Register of Historic Places in April 1973 where it is noted as one of the best remaining examples of an old country general store. Today, you can still mail a letter at the corner post office, warm up by the pot-bellied stove.

Original Mast General Store. This historic landmark, in the heart of the state's first rural historic district, has featured quality goods and traditional clothing since 1883. The community's post office is still in the corner of the store and a cup of coffee is just 5¢ (on the honor system). Just 2/10 of a mile down the road is the Mast.

Dec 2023 • Friends. It's just an over priced store full of clothes and tourist junk. It's also not the stores original location as labeled in 1883 but was recently strategically placed at this location back in the 90's. I wasn't impressed with the high prices on all of their goods.
